Stenographers G. III Recruitment 2025: What is the essential qualification
For applying for the post of Stenographer the
candidate must have degree of Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science or
equivalent thereto from a recognized university and have proficiency in
computers (Word Processing and Spread Sheets) having passed matriculation
examination with Punjabi as one of compulsory or elective subject or any other
equivalent examination in Punjabi Language.
However,
whose have not passed Punjabi as one of
the compulsory language in matriculation exam can also apply for the post of
stenographer subject to the condition that if they are selected for the post of stenographer they will have to
pass Punjabi language exam within the probation
period failing which their appointment shall be cancelled.
The candidate
must possess the required qualification
as on 23.4.2025.

Stenographers Recruitment 2025: What is the application fee

What is the Selection process
for the post of Stenographer Grade III
The selection
for the post of stenographer grade III shall be done on the based of computer
based written test and stenography test.
Written test:- The candidate
after applying for the post of stenographer have to appear for Computer Based Test which will be
of 60 marks, consisting 60 objective type multiple choice questions on English
Composition and General Knowledge and there will be no negative marking and
each question will carry one mark. The duration
of the written exam will be of one hour. The candidate who qualify the CBT
written test will have to appear for short hand test.
English Shorthand & Transcription
Test:- After
qualifying the written test there will be shorthand speed test. The candidates have
to pass the English shorthand test at the speed of 80 W.P.M. and then transcribe the same on the computer
at the speed of 20 W.P.M. There is only 8% mistakes are allowed and who commits
more than 8% mistakes will not qualify.
Spreadsheet Test:- This test shall be only of qualifying nature, of
10 marks and of 10 minutes duration. To qualify Spreadsheet Test, a candidate
shall have to secure 40% or more i.e. 4 or more marks.

The interested and eligible candidates can apply for the post of
stenographer through online mode only and no application other than online mode
shall be accepted. The candidates can
apply on the website www.sssc.gov.in through the
link to be provide on 26.3.2025. In
order to apply online the candidates have to first required to fill a
Registration form followed by the Application Form.
Before
applying online the candidates must remember that they should read the official
notification twice or thrice to mitigate any error while applying online for
the post of stenographer.
